History of Etna's family
Terroir and sustainability
Cataratto, Carricante, Nerello Cappuccio, and Nerello Mascalese. They give life to the Mirantur line and Etna DOC. In addition to this is the vineyard of the Grandfather, an extraordinary stage of the biodiversity of Etna with shoot on soils with a slope of 30%. The oenologist is Nicola Colombo
Versante Sud
Nicolosi is the south side This is where it all started when Andrea Serafica, returning from America in 1950
In 1950, dedicated himself to the cultivation of vineyards. Today the company wants to tell the story of the territory through this line of unique wines
, such as the slope that looks at the summit of Etna on one side and Catania and the Ionian Sea on the other.
Grotte
Etna is full of volcanic caves and spectacular galleries With the Etna’s D.O.C. wines we want to restore the sense of the unique character of the territory and sense of a one-of-a-kind experience.
Mirantur
Fruit of vines sprung by Sicily’ sun that look at the sea and stun, this wine is exclusively obtained from autochthonous grapes of Catarratto coming from the vineyard of our family, located at 900 m.a.s.l. and whose roots sink into soils of volcanic origin.
The oenologist is Nicola Colombo
In the cellar
If the vineyards are at the heart of the company, the winery is the control centre where it is not only fundamental to value the great work done in the vineyard but also to reduce waste and intervene as little as possible.
Since 2021 the winemaker is Nicola Colombo, who took his first steps next to Giacomo Tachis and Riccardo Cotarella and has joined the wine project of Serafica family on the south side of Etna
